Fishing Program

The South Fork of the Snake is an extremely productive fishery, offering native Snake River Cutthroat, Rainbow, Hybrid (Cut Bow),and Brown trout. We often catch fish over 20 inches, but most fish fall in the 15-17 inch range. The South Fork starts with nymph fishing in the early May, then transitions to dry fly fishing by the end of June and through October. Fall offers great dry fly and streamer fishing, less crowds, perfect temperatures.

We offer guided drift boat fishing and wake/wade trips on the main stem of the Snake River from Gem State Dam in Idaho Falls Firth, Firth to Rose and lower to Massacre Rocks State Park. The Main Snake offers excellent fishing for Trout, Small Mouth Bass, and even Carp. Several of our guides spend their winters near Pocatello to guide on the Snake River as winter fishing on this section offers great chances of catching trout over 20″.

Best Time to Visit: May-middle of October

Fishing Techniques: May-middle of June for Nymphing/Streamers.  From middle of June till October is the best dry fly fishing.
