Lake Trout are a Char just as are Brook Trout, and Arctic Char.  They primarily are found in cold water lakes and are commonly caught in the 5-12 lb range.  Trophies go from 35 to 42 inches long.  50 pounders have been caught in the past. They are found in waters throughout northern USA and Canada.
